On Friday, December 4, 2020 the Bayonne uptown tree lighting took place with a moment of silence and candle lighting for Bayonne’s 3rd Ward Councilman Gary La Pelusa deceased wife, Cherie.  She was the driving force on having a tree lighting ceremony for Uptown Businesses and for the uptown community.  Due to covid-19 Councilman La Pelusa wife, Cherrie passed away from this along with his mother-in-law.  He wanted to still have a tree lighting ceremony for the community and also for his wife in her honor.
